2CRSi and ÆTHER Consortium Aim for AI Sustainability in Europe

2CRSi SA has announced the European consortium ÆTHER's initiative to develop an 'AI Gigafactory' in central Europe. This project aims to be the first of its kind with a net-negative carbon footprint, leveraging a strategic partnership with French and European industry leaders.

Backed by the "InvestAI" program, the consortium will pursue up to €20 billion in investments to establish this facility. Utilizing advanced technology, the gigafactory will be capable of computing power equivalent to 200,000 NVIDIA H100 GPUs, doubling the benchmark set by the European Commission.

The ÆTHER project's sustainability pledge combines renewable energy sources and long-term CO₂ storage through biochar production. This approach aligns with EU goals for sustainable and sovereign AI development while fostering local economic benefits, particularly in forestry.
