AFYREN launches a cosmetic product based on natural propionic acid

AFYREN, a greentech company, announces the global launch of a new cosmetic product formulated with 100% bio-sourced propionic acid. Developed in collaboration with the South African company Esse Skincare, this product is designed for enhanced skincare. AFYREN uses a natural fermentation process at its AFYREN NEOXY facility to produce this COSMOS-certified ingredient.

Entitled "Esse Barrier Rescue," the product specifically targets dry and reactive skin, combining propionic acid and ceramides to support the balance of the skin microbiome. This partnership marks a turning point in the industrial use of propionic acid, which until now has been primarily derived from petrochemical sources. This innovation opens up new perspectives for the cosmetics industry, with a focus on sustainability and performance.
