AiMotive Unveils New Data Recording Hardware for ADAS and Autonomous Driving
On September 15, 2026, aiMotive announced the launch of two innovative data recording solutions: the aiMotive Rig and the aiMotive Rooftop Box. These systems are designed to support the development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving technologies. By integrating NovAtel's SPAN GNSS+INS technology, they offer precise positioning and timing capabilities for accurate system evaluation.
The aiMotive Rig is a compact, LiDAR-based configuration that can be mounted on various vehicles, allowing for high-quality static world capture and positioning. It supports AI-based auto-annotation and HD map creation through the aiData toolchain.
The aiMotive Rooftop Box offers a 360° environmental view, combining six cameras, dual Hesai LiDARs, and GNSS+INS technology. Designed for seamless installation, it enables dynamic actor annotation and facilitates complete ADAS validation workflows.
