CERENERGY Project Secures Crucial Permits for Production Plant

Altech Advanced Materials AG has announced that its subsidiary, Altech Batteries GmbH, has received the necessary environmental and building permits for its CERENERGY battery plant in Saxony. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 120 MWh. This approval marks a significant milestone in the project’s execution, allowing construction activities to begin.

The company anticipates direct investments of approximately EUR 156 million. Preparatory work for the plant construction is underway, with substantial progress already made, including the successful assembly of the first battery prototype.

Expressing optimism, CEO Uwe Ahrens noted the building permit as a crucial step towards operational readiness. The permits could positively impact ongoing discussions with potential investors, underscoring the project's viability.
