Amprion Sees Record Growth in 2024 and Plans Major Grid Expansion

Amprion GmbH, a leading transmission grid operator in Germany, reported a highly successful year in 2024, marked by significant improvements across all key financial figures. The company invested around €4 billion in grid expansion, aiming for a total of €36.4 billion by 2029 to support the energy transition.

Over the past year, Amprion has completed 200 kilometers of new transmission lines and has 1,300 kilometers under construction. These efforts are crucial for enhancing the grid's capacity to handle renewable energy sources, reducing grid intervention costs, and achieving climate targets.

Amprion's financial stability reflects this growth, with a 16.7% increase in revenue to €5.6 billion and a 25.1% rise in EBITDA to €1.2 billion. The company also focused on job creation, hiring 368 new employees in 2024. With the backing of shareholders, Amprion is confidently moving towards an affordable and efficient energy transition in Germany.
