Arkema inaugurates an innovative acrylic acid purification unit
On October 8, 2026, Arkema inaugurated a new acrylic acid purification unit at its Carling site in France. Equipped with an innovative process, this facility contributes to the decarbonization of the European chemical industry. The inauguration took place in the presence of Thierry Le Hénaff and Stéphane Séjourné, underscoring the importance of supporting the chemical industry in Europe.
The investment, totaling approximately €150 million, is part of Arkema's ambitious climate plan, which includes €400 million in expenditures between 2022 and 2030. The project, partially funded by the French government and the European Union, improves energy efficiency by 25% and reduces the site's carbon intensity by 20%. The Carling plant now ranks among the industry leaders with a reduced carbon footprint.
