Rasmus Errboe Appointed as New CEO of Ørsted
On January 31, 2025, Ørsted's Board of Directors announced the appointment of Rasmus Errboe as the new Group President and CEO. He replaces Mads Nipper, who will step down on February 1, 2025. Errboe, the current Deputy CEO and Chief Commercial Officer, has been with Ørsted since 2012. He brings extensive experience and understanding of the renewable energy sector.
Lene Skole, Chair of Ørsted’s Board, emphasized the need for leadership adept at handling challenges in the offshore wind industry. She expressed confidence in Errboe’s ability to navigate industry headwinds and maintain the company's commitment to green energy.
Mads Nipper exits after increasing Ørsted's renewable capacity significantly from 11.3 GW in 2021 to a projected 18.2 GW in 2025. Errboe expressed honor at leading the company and affirmed his commitment to continuing the transformation towards sustainable energy solutions.
