MakerWorld's Charity Design Contest Supports Children's Cancer Wards

MakerWorld's inaugural user-initiated charity design contest has concluded, selecting top designs from 2,056 worldwide submissions by 1,008 creators. Supporting the Pieksekisten project, it coordinates 3D-printed gifts for children in cancer wards, attracting over 250,000 unique visitors.

Pieksekisten, meaning "comfort boxes" in German, offers small gifts to children undergoing stressful medical treatments. The project is a personal mission initiated by Pascal Neumann and Silke, following their son's battle with cancer. It utilizes MakerWorld's platform to streamline the creation of these gifts, turning digital designs into tangible support.

The contest's top winners include practical designs like a wall decor and puppet theater. Children in the wards are also set to choose their favorites. Additionally, MakerWorld introduced a Points Donation feature, raising significant support for the project.
