Swissnet Group Secures Major WLAN Project with European Food Retailer

On 22 July 2025, swissnet Group announced it has secured a significant WLAN project with a major European food discounter. The initial phase involves deploying infrastructure across 500 locations, with plans to expand to 5,000 stores Europe-wide in the following years. The project initially values at around EUR 1.5 million.

This initiative aims to provide a high-availability guest Wi-Fi network, ensuring secure browsing with geolocation features. The network will integrate with the client's mobile app, enhancing in-store digital services. Additionally, swissnet is developing a similar WLAN concept for a German discounter's 1,200 stores.

swissnet Group's CEO, Jonathan Sauppe, highlighted the importance of robust WLAN infrastructures in supporting location-based marketing in retail. These projects further strengthen swissnet's position in Europe's retail network services.
