BioVersys Publishes BV100 Phase 1 Clinical Data

BioVersys AG has announced the publication of Phase 1 clinical trial data for BV100 in the Journal of Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy. The study focused on pharmacokinetics, safety, and tolerability. BV100, designed for infections caused by multi-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii, demonstrated a dose-proportional pharmacokinetic profile and general safety. The Phase 3 trial has begun, with results expected in the second half of 2027.

The Phase 1 trial found that BV100 was well tolerated. A global Phase 2b trial will further assess the drug's clinical differentiation, with interim results expected by the end of 2026. BV100 is vital for addressing carbapenem-resistant strains, as highlighted by the high mortality rates associated with these infections.
