Cerrado Gold Concludes Payment for Minera Don Nicolas Acquisition
Cerrado Gold Inc. has finalized a US$5 million payment, the last installment for acquiring the Minera Don Nicolas (MDN) gold mine in Argentina. The total purchase price settled at US$47 million. Since its acquisition in 2020, MDN has produced over 200,000 gold equivalent ounces by the end of 2024.
Mark Brennan, CEO, highlights MDN’s role in strengthening Cerrado’s finances, enabling ongoing exploration. Production has grown significantly since 2020, and further expansion is planned. The Las Calandrias heap leach operation is performing well, with new developments expected in Q3 2025.
Cerrado intends to support its Lagoa Salgada Project in Portugal with its current strong financial standing. The eventual acquisition of Ascendant Resources Inc. is also anticipated.
