China Marks New Milestone in Women's Development

On October 15, 2025, Beijing hosted the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the Beijing women's conference. Chinese President Xi Jinping highlighted the crucial role of women in societal progress, proposing initiatives for gender equality and women's development worldwide.

China's significant progress includes elevating millions of women out of poverty and increasing their representation in education and the workforce. Women now exceed half of the student population in higher education and play prominent roles in science and entrepreneurship. Health metrics for women have also improved, with notable reductions in maternal mortality and increased life expectancy.

Internationally, China has supported women's development in developing nations, contributing $20 million to UN Women and initiating projects in digital education and healthcare. This commitment is further emphasized through substantial investments in women's projects globally, fostering environments for growth and empowerment.
