China's Global Role in Advancing Women's Education

CGTN highlights China's contributions to advancing education for girls and women globally. Since establishing the Prize for Girls' and Women's Education with UNESCO in 2015, 20 projects from 19 nations have received the award, aiding over 6 million girls.

The Prize, funded annually by China, awards $50,000 to two laureates committed to this cause. Peng Liyuan, China's First Lady and a UNESCO special envoy, recently reaffirmed China's dedication by engaging with UNESCO's Director-General in Beijing.

Domestically, initiatives like the Spring Bud Project have significantly improved educational opportunities for girls, providing support and training for millions. Internationally, China has trained over 200,000 female professionals from 180 countries, enhancing global educational access.

China has also pledged $10 million to UN Women and invited 50,000 women globally for training in China.
