Circus SE Partners with REWE Region West for Autonomous Robot Integration

Circus SE has announced an exclusive pilot partnership with REWE Markt GmbH's West Regional Branch. The collaboration concerns the deployment of the CA-1 robot for autonomous food preparation in REWE's German supermarkets. The pilot, starting in fall 2025, represents the first worldwide integration of autonomous food production in grocery retail settings.

Under the agreement, REWE Region West will implement three CA-1 robots and the comprehensive Circus Software Suite, which includes AI-driven production management and kitchen control. This eight-month pilot emphasizes joint operations and customer satisfaction assessments. Both companies view this development as a vital step towards innovative, technology-driven retail solutions.

REWE Region West's Chairman, Lars Klein, highlights the goal of enhancing the shopping experience through this partnership. Meanwhile, Circus CEO Nikolas Bullwinkel notes the initiative's significance for the retail sector and consumer engagement.
