Regent Acquires OESL from Continental's ContiTech
Continental AG has announced the sale of its Original Equipment Solutions (OESL) to Regent, a global industrial holding company. The acquisition includes OESL's development and production of hose lines and bearing elements for automotive use. The transaction aligns with ContiTech's strategy to focus on industrial customers, intensifying the company's emphasis on material solutions in the industrial sector.
Philip Nelles from Continental's Executive Board highlighted the strategic shift, stating that post-sale, ContiTech will derive 80% of its sales from industrial customers. Michael A. Reinstein, Regent's chairman, expressed optimism about leveraging OESL's automotive expertise for future mobility solutions.
The deal, pending antitrust approval, follows Continental's broader strategic agenda to strengthen independent business units, continuing efforts outlined during its recent Capital Market Day.
