CoTec Acquires Salter Cyclone MGS for Canadian Project
Vancouver-based CoTec Holdings Corp. has purchased its first commercial-scale Multi-Gravity-Separator (MGS) from Salter Cyclone Limited. The technology, effective in recovering minerals from fine particles, will be housed at Corem's laboratory in Québec, Canada. This facility allows CoTec to quickly assess tailings retreatment opportunities using Corem's reputed testing capabilities.
The MGS unit supports the ongoing Lac Jeannine Feasibility Study for iron ore recovery from tailings. The acquisition aligns with CoTec's strategy to employ technology for mineral recovery from waste materials. Testing on Lac Jeannine's iron tailings confirms the feasibility of producing high-grade concentrates economically. CoTec's collaboration with Salter Cyclone aims to expand MGS technology application to other minerals, such as copper, lead, and zinc.
CoTec's agreement with Salter Cyclone highlights a commitment to transforming waste streams into valuable resources efficiently, particularly for bulk commodities like iron and manganese. This move is part of CoTec's broader goal to redefine resource extraction through innovative technologies.
