DATAGROUP Advances Digitalization of Student Finance in Hesse

Pliezhausen, 3 July 2025 – DATAGROUP has successfully initiated the digitalization of student finance in Hesse by introducing electronic files for BAföG at Studierendenwerk Gießen. This marks the third successful implementation, following previous setups in Darmstadt and Kassel.

The shift from paper-based to digital processing aims to modernize administrative procedures efficiently. Implemented through an interdisciplinary project group, DATAGROUP provided technical and strategic support for this transition, improving administrative efficiency while reducing paper usage.

Advantages of e-files include faster processing times, improved communication, and the facilitation of mobile work. Paper documents are scanned with legal validity, streamlining operations. Dominik Kaiser highlighted the benefits of this transition for students and staff alike.

With its BAFSYS software already operative in eleven federal states, DATAGROUP continues to establish itself as a key digital partner for public administration, planning to extend these efforts to other regions.
