Deezer Reports Surge in AI-Generated Music Uploads

On April 16, 2025, Deezer announced that over 18% of new music uploads to their platform are entirely AI-generated. This figure highlights a significant rise from 10% in January 2025, following the launch of their AI-music detection tool.

Aurelien Herault, Deezer’s Chief Innovation Officer, noted the persistent influx of AI-generated content. He emphasized the potential benefits of generative AI, while stressing the importance of responsibility to protect artists' rights and ensure transparency.

Deezer’s detection tool can efficiently identify fully AI-generated music from widely used models like Suno and Udio. The platform's commitment to safeguarding artists’ rights is underscored amidst growing concerns over AI training on copyrighted materials without proper consideration of copyright laws.
