Derichebourg and Vicat Enhance Efforts in Industrial Decarbonisation
Derichebourg Environnement and Vicat are advancing their cooperation to bolster industrial decarbonisation through their joint venture, VALèreCO. This partnership, rooted in a 30-year history, focuses on the circular economy and reindustrialisation. A strategic €7 million project in the Grand Est region aims to produce 34,000 tonnes of Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) annually, mainly supplying Vicat's Xeuilley cement plant.
The new facility in Pagny-sur-Meuse embodies local industrial ecology, with production occurring within 50 kilometres of consumption. This reduces transport and provides a sustainable waste outlet. VALèreCO's project mitigates non-recyclable waste landfilling, replaces fossil fuels, and strengthens energy resilience. As they target carbon neutrality by 2050, the partners underscore their commitment to sustainable industrial solutions.
