Ekinops finalizes the EMBRACE collaborative project

On June 23, 2025, Ekinops, a major player in optical transport and network access, announced the successful completion of the EMBRACE project. This Franco-Canadian project, led by Orange Innovation, demonstrated multi-band optical transmission over 240 channels, a significant technological advancement. At the heart of this development, collaboration with EXAIL, MPB Communications, and IMT Atlantique enabled innovation with key subsystems.

The main objective was to use metropolitan optical fibers (4 x 100 km) to optimize existing infrastructure. The results provide operators with improved processing capacity, thus extending the lifespan of optical fibers. The authorities praised the system's remarkable design, the result of numerous simulations.

Funded by the Brittany Region and Lannion Trégor Community, this initiative aims to meet the growing demand for capacity, while reusing existing infrastructure.
