Electric Metals Advances U.S. Manganese Processing with Cost Study

Electric Metals (USA) Limited has released a Front-End Loading 1 (FEL-1) study confirming the commercial viability of their North Star Manganese Project. Completed by Hargrove Engineers and Constructors, the study suggests a potential cost saving of 3% compared to prior estimates. The full-production facility is projected at $452 million, hinting at significant economic advantages.

This facility is set to produce High-Purity Manganese Sulfate Monohydrate (HPMSM) and is strategically positioned on the U.S. Gulf Coast, utilizing local infrastructure for optimized logistics and chemical sourcing. Despite the progress, the exact site still awaits final selection.

Electric Metals emphasizes the U.S.'s current reliance on imported manganese, linking domestic production to national security initiatives. With manganese given a critical status, the study underscores the strategic necessity for a U.S.-based supply chain. The facility aims for operational readiness 32 months post-investment decisions.
