Electrovaya Commences Battery Assembly in Jamestown, NY

Electrovaya Inc., a leader in lithium-ion battery technology, has launched battery system assembly operations at its Jamestown, New York facility. This marks a significant step in Electrovaya's investment in manufacturing within the region. Operations are poised for expansion with increasing demand, as the company prepares to start lithium ion cell and module production, projected for mid-2026.

To support these efforts, Electrovaya has ordered over $40 million in capital equipment. This funding is part of a $51 million loan from the Export Import Bank of the United States. Delivery of this equipment is expected by late 2025, facilitating the production schedule.

The establishment of the Jamestown facility positions Electrovaya to meet the growing demand and underscores its strategy to become a prominent domestic battery manufacturer in the U.S.
