Europlasma requests judicial reorganization for FDB Industries
Europlasma has announced that it has filed for receivership for its subsidiary FDB Industries. This request was made after consultation with the company's works council. A fire last January halted operations at the foundry, leading to a deterioration in cash flow and delaying restart plans.
The decision of the Lorient Commercial Court is expected soon. If accepted, an observation period will begin, during which Europlasma will attempt to stabilize the situation. The key issues include resuming operations, restarting the site, and preserving jobs.
The acquisition of FDB Industries in 2025 aimed to maintain operations in response to an uncertain automotive market. Europlasma's objective was reindustrialization and diversification into the defense sector.
