EVN AG: Climate Goals Aligned with Paris Agreement

EVN AG has achieved a significant milestone by having its 1.5°C climate goal validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). This commitment is in line with the Paris Climate Agreement, aiming to limit global warming to "well-below 2°C." Since 2021, EVN AG has expanded its renewable energy capacity, elevating it from approximately 750 MW to over 940 MW, parting ways with coal-fired power.

The transition to the 1.5°C objective comes with an ambitious strategy, targeting a 70% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by the 2030/31 fiscal year, compared to the 2021/22 levels. Key efforts include scaling up wind power, photovoltaics, and renewable heat generation. EVN AG is among 75 European energy companies with a scientifically supported 1.5°C reduction plan, underlining its commitment to the Paris climate goals and its social responsibility.
