FDE Expands Green Electricity Production with New Units at Rouvignies
La Française de l'Énergie (FDE) has launched two new green electricity production units at its Rouvignies site. This addition increases the company's fleet to 19 engines—a 27% rise since June 2026. The company aims to double its low-carbon electricity production capacity in three years.
CEO Antoine Forcinal highlighted the timely rollout, with engines benefiting from a 15-year power purchase contract with EDF, ensuring revenue stability. The newly commissioned units at Rouvignies will cater to roughly 3,500 households and prevent 550,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
With the acquisition of 16 more engines, FDE plans to further extend its operations, aiming to generate €18 million in additional annual revenue and €10 million in EBITDA. This expansion underscores its commitment to energy sovereignty and resilient cash flows.
