Geely Introduces i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid Technology

Geely Automobile Holdings has unveiled its i-HEV intelligent hybrid technology, presenting a new direction in gasoline-powered vehicles. The system integrates AI-based energy management, a high-output electric drive, a high-discharge-rate battery, and a high-efficiency engine. It aims to enhance fuel efficiency, driving performance, and safety.

The i-HEV engine boasts a peak thermal efficiency of 48.41%, the highest among current mass-produced engines. Notably, the Geely Emgrand i-HEV achieved a fuel consumption rate of 2.22 L/100 km, securing a Guinness World Records title.

Featuring an independent operation architecture, the i-HEV system allows electric propulsion to dominate when possible, supporting up to 230 kW output. Electric driving covers over 80% of the test cycles, with pure electric speeds up to 66 km/h.
