Publication of the results of the GS030 trial for retinitis pigmentosa

GenSight Biologics and the National 15-20 Hospital announced the publication of results from the Phase 1/2 trial of the drug GS030 in the New England Journal of Medicine. This trial is evaluating the safety and potential efficacy of GS030 for treating advanced retinitis pigmentosa. The drug combines gene therapy with light stimulation to restore some visual perception.

The results, although preliminary, show improved light sensitivity in some patients. No serious systemic adverse reactions were attributed to the treatment. Further research is needed to confirm and expand upon these encouraging findings.
