GECC Releases Q2 2025 Financial Results

Global Education Communities Corp (GECC) reported a decrease in fiscal 2025 Q2 revenue, totaling $34.5 million, a 13% decline from the previous year. The company's net income shifted from a gain of $2.6 million in Q2 2024 to a loss of $1.6 million in Q2 2025. This 164% change reflects challenges in the international education sector due to Canadian policy changes.

Domestically, GECC experienced growth. The student housing revenue saw a 9% increase, adjusted for the prior sale of GEC® Granville Hotel. The continued decrease in interest rates contributed to an 11% reduction in finance costs. However, international revenue dipped by 37% due to restrictive student enrollment policies.

Operational adjustments reduced non-current liabilities by 41%, and Adjusted EBITDA reached $4.2 million. The company remains focused on strengthening domestic education and expanding its student housing amid the challenging international landscape.
