Hitachi Energy Partners with Daikin for Sustainable High-Voltage Grid Solutions

Hitachi Energy has announced a partnership with Daikin Industries to supply C4-FN, a critical component for SF6-free switchgear, from Frankfurt starting in 2027. This collaboration supports the expanding EconiQ® portfolio and secures a multi-region supply chain for sustainable high-voltage technologies.

Currently, SF6 gas, notorious for its high global warming potential, is widely used in high-voltage equipment. The C4-FN gas will help reduce CO2-equivalent emissions by 99% compared to traditional SF6 equipment. This move aligns with growing global demand for eco-efficient technologies as more than 4,000 EconiQ orders have been placed worldwide.

The strategic partnership aims to meet increasing global demand while reducing environmental footprint. Daikin's Frankfurt facility will produce C4-FN to complement Asian supplies, ensuring continued product availability for Hitachi Energy's clients.
