HKSTP and Merck Forge Strategic Partnership to Boost I&T Development

Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and Merck have announced a strategic partnership to establish the "Merck Hong Kong Centre" at Hong Kong Science Park. This collaboration aims to enhance the local innovation and technology (I&T) ecosystem by bridging global expertise with local innovators, thus accelerating the commercialisation of research and development (R&D).

The partnership plans to implement initiatives such as technical training, advisory sessions, and an innovation scouting program. An annual flagship event, Merck Innovation Day, will also be co-hosted, focusing on life science, healthcare, and electronics.

HKSTP and Merck's collaboration aligns with Hong Kong's First Five-Year Plan, emphasizing strategic industries like life and health technology and AI. The new Merck Hong Kong Centre will serve as a central node for connecting local startups with Merck's global network, fostering two-way innovation exchange in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
