IBU-tec Advances LFP Production Facility in Bitterfeld

IBU-tec advanced materials AG is making significant strides in developing its LFP battery materials production facility in Bitterfeld. Construction of the logistics infrastructure is progressing as planned, with engineering for the production facilities now in detailed phases. The steel structure for a logistics hall capable of storing approximately 1,800 pallets has been erected, with interior works scheduled for completion in the next six months.

The production plant, expected to begin operations in 2028, will have an annual output of 15,000 tonnes, enhancing IBU-tec's capacity by fivefold. This facility, the first of its kind in Europe, utilizes IBU-tec's proprietary technology, which is energy-efficient and adapted to the European market without reliance on Chinese technology. PowerCo SE has secured the entire production for a decade. Trial operations for the spray tower, a crucial element of the facility, are set to begin in Q4 2026.
