FITUR 2026 Showcases Germany and Spain's Tourism Synergies

Germany will be heavily represented at the FITUR 2026 International Tourism Fair in Madrid, emphasizing its collaboration with Spain, one of Europe's prominent tourism sectors. Scheduled from January 21-25, the event will feature offerings from German tourism technology companies, hotel chains, operators, and the cruise industry.

Germany ranked second in tourist expenditure in Spain from January to October 2025, contributing 11.8% of the total revenue. During the same period, Germany was the third-largest source of tourists, welcoming 10.7 million visitors, reflecting a 0.8% increase from 2024. Spanish interest in Germany is also rising, with overnight stays growing by 7.7% in 2025.

The World Economic Forum's TTDI 2024 ranks Spain second and Germany sixth, showcasing their strong global tourism infrastructure. This status highlights their importance and the existing synergies between both nations' tourism sectors.
