FGC Enhances Catalonia Rail Transport with IVU.rail Integration

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) in Barcelona is implementing the IVU.rail software from IVU Traffic Technologies AG to improve its regional rail transport. This move transitions FGC's planning process to a more dynamic system, enhancing workflow efficiency. FGC becomes the third Spanish railway company to adopt IVU.rail.

FGC operates a comprehensive network in Barcelona, covering 189 kilometres with 81 stations and the separate 87-kilometre Lleida–La Pobla de Segur route. This extensive system requires precise alignment to ensure reliable passenger services. The IVU.rail integration replaces FGC’s previous IT system, unifying all planning elements, including network management and scheduling.

As a 'Software as a Service,' IVU.rail allows data to be consolidated in the IVU.cloud. This setup enables FGC employees to access essential applications and data remotely, making operations more streamlined and reliable. President Carles Ruiz Novella highlights the improved functionalities for efficient workflow coordination. Guillermo Calderón of IVU adds that this collaboration furthers IVU's success in Spain’s rail sector.
