Jaguar Health's Crofelemer Study Accepted at ACG 2026

Jaguar Health, Inc. announced that an abstract on the preliminary results of its open-label study involving crofelemer for adult short bowel syndrome patients with intestinal failure (SBS-IF) will be presented at the American College of Gastroenterology Annual Scientific Meeting in October 2026.

Napo Pharmaceuticals, part of the Jaguar family, is conducting a Phase 2 clinical trial on crofelemer in adult Type 1 short bowel syndrome patients. This study focuses on the multicenter, randomized, placebo-controlled effectiveness of crofelemer.

Crofelemer as an adjunctive therapy aims to reduce dependence on parenteral nutrition, which is vital yet complicated by serious risks. Data from past studies indicate reductions in parenteral support requirements in pediatric patients.

Jaguar Health plans to continue its development program, with a New Drug Application for Microvillus Inclusion Disease anticipated by mid-2027.
