Kingstone Expands Homeowners Insurance in Downstate New York
Kingstone Companies, Inc., a regional insurance holding company, announced a strategic move to grow its homeowners insurance business in Downstate New York. The company has partnered with AmGUARD Insurance Company to offer replacement policies to selected policyholders as AmGUARD reduces its focus on personal lines. This transition involves about $70 million in written premium and awaits approval from the New York Department of Financial Services.
Kingstone's CEO, Meryl Golden, emphasized collaboration with AmGUARD's distribution partners to ensure a smooth transition. The plan is set to start in the third quarter of 2025. Adam Edelstein, CEO of AmGUARD, highlighted the strategic pivot towards commercial insurance, making Kingstone an ideal partner for covering existing homeowners policyholders.
