Kontron Transportation Secures Major GSM-R Project in Spain

Kontron Transportation Spain, part of the Kontron Group, has been awarded a significant contract by Adif to implement GSM-R coverage on the Medina del Campo – Orense railway line in Spain. This project is valued at over 20 million euros, including both deployment and a four-year maintenance period. The 338 km railway line serves medium-distance passenger services and freight traffic.

Adif, a key player in managing Spain's large railway network, partners with Kontron to enhance railway infrastructure and service quality. The collaboration promises modernized infrastructure, improved safety through GSM-R technology, and positive environmental impacts by optimizing energy use and reducing the carbon footprint.
