Lahontan Gold Corp Initiates Drilling at Santa Fe Mine
Lahontan Gold Corp has commenced a new phase of exploration at its flagship Santa Fe Mine in Nevada's Walker Lane. The company has deployed a reverse-circulation drill rig to focus on in-fill drilling, aiming to elevate gold and silver resources from Inferred to Indicated status while expanding overall reserves. The program plans for 25 holes, totaling 4,000 meters, centered on shallow oxide gold and silver deposits.
CEO Kimberly Ann highlighted the strategic transition from resource definition to mine planning for 2026. The Santa Fe Mine project includes both indicated and inferred mineral resources, with historical production of significant gold and silver ounces. Lahontan Gold continues to progress towards production, bolstered by continuous metallurgical testing and updated economic assessments.
