Leclanché and Century Ship Services Partner for Hybrid Cruise Vessel
Leclanché SA, a Swiss energy storage leader, has partnered with Century Ship Services to install 4 MWh of marine battery systems for a hybrid ocean cruise vessel. This marks Leclanché's first installation of the Navius MRS-3 system in the ocean cruise segment, supporting carbon-neutral operations.
The vessel, part of a new hybrid fleet, aims to comply with EU and IMO emission standards by 2026. The ship, 140 meters long, has been extended to include battery and hydrogen systems, illustrating a shift to sustainable shipping.
"Our collaboration with Century Ship Services confirms the industry's move toward electrification," stated Guillaume Clement, Global VP E-Marine at Leclanché. The partnership highlights Leclanché's progress in the cruise sector.
