Lloyds Banking Group Reports Robust 2026 Half-Year Performance
Lloyds Banking Group PLC has announced its half-year results for 2026, showcasing substantial financial growth. Statutory profit before tax reached £4.3 billion, an increase from £3.5 billion in 2025, driven by higher income and controlled costs, despite increased operating lease depreciation and impairment charges. The return on tangible equity stood at 17.1%.
The bank reported a 9% rise in underlying net interest income, amassing £7.3 billion due to a heightened net interest margin and asset growth. Underlying other income increased by 11% to £3.3 billion, bolstered by active customer engagement and strategic investments.
Capital generation remained strong at 108 basis points, reflecting lending growth and risk-weighted asset optimization. The Group declared an interim ordinary dividend of 1.58 pence per share, marking a 30% increase from the previous year.
Looking forward, Lloyds is set to pursue its new "Accelerate 2030" strategy to enhance customer experience and digital capabilities, promising sustainable value creation for shareholders.
