LONGi Achieves 60GW Milestone in Back Contact Technology
LONGi, a leader in solar technology, has reached a significant milestone with its Back Contact (BC) platform surpassing 60GW in commercial sales. This achievement highlights a shift towards the global adoption of high-efficiency solar modules.
In 2025, LONGi shipped 22.87GW, bolstered further by 8.34GW in the first quarter of 2026. The company aims for 100GW in wafer and 80GW in module shipments by the end of 2026. BC technology is expected to comprise over 65% of annual shipments, emphasizing its role in global decarbonization efforts.
LONGi's R&D focuses on scenario-specific solutions, enhancing reliability and performance across various environmental conditions. By situating electrodes on the cell's rear, BC technology optimizes sunlight absorption, promising higher energy generation and improved land utilization.
