Medincell receives FDA approval for WELTRUZA™
On October 9, 2026, Medincell announced that its partner Teva Pharmaceuticals had received FDA approval for WELTRUZA™, an injectable, extended-release olanzapine. This treatment, administered monthly, is intended for schizophrenia in adults. WELTRUZA™ is the first subcutaneous formulation of its kind, eliminating the need for loading doses and post-injection monitoring.
Teva Pharmaceuticals plans to launch WELTRUZA™ in the United States soon. Medincell will receive royalties and potential milestone payments of up to $112 million. This success reinforces Medincell's "Shift to Growth" strategy, solidifying its innovative position with its BEPO® extended-release injection technology.
