Medios AG, a prominent name in the European specialty pharma sector, has ventured into the medicinal cannabis arena. The company has teamed up with Bedrocan, a Dutch manufacturer known for its pharmaceutical-grade cannabis, securing exclusive distribution rights in Germany, Spain, Belgium, Italy, and Austria. This collaboration begins with products from Bedrocan's EU-GMP certified Danish facility, with plans to expand by 2027 to other production sites.

This strategic move enhances Medios' offerings, particularly in oncology and neurology, where medicinal cannabis is instrumental. By targeting the reimbursable segment of the market, Medios aims to solidify its presence, minimizing exposure to legislative shifts in the self-payer sector. Additionally, Medios' established pharmaceutical logistics infrastructure in the EU supports its expansion into this growing field.
