Mersen Announces New CEO Amid Governance Transition
Mersen has appointed Salvador Lamas as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. This appointment follows the tenure of Luc Themelin, who is now stepping into the role of non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. This shift is part of a well-prepared governance transition announced in July 2025.
Lamas, age 53, brings nearly 30 years of experience from major industrial firms including Valeo and Areva T&D. Since joining Mersen in 2021, he has served as Business Unit Vice-President and, since March 2025, as Chief Operating Officer. Themelin, with a long history at Mersen starting in 1993, served as CEO since May 2016.
Themelin expressed confidence in Lamas' ability to lead Mersen into a new phase of development, citing Lamas' deep understanding of the group's vision and markets. Lamas aims to continue the growth trajectory with support from the executive team.
