MET Group's 2024 Climate Impact Report Highlights Progress in Energy Transition
On October 3, 2025, MET Group, a Swiss energy company, released its Climate Impact Report 2024. This report demonstrates their commitment to Europe's energy transition and provides details on the company's environmental impacts across 32 national gas markets. Key achievements include a 23% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 12% decrease in electricity carbon intensity.
MET Group has increased its installed renewable capacity to 414 MWp, aided by new solar projects in Spain and Hungary. These contributed to 617 GWh of green electricity, marking a 16% increase from the previous year. The company invested 34% of its capital expenditure in initiatives like renewable energy projects and battery storage, emphasizing its role in energy transition. MET plans further developments, with over 1,000 MWp of renewable projects and 130 MWp of battery storage under construction.
