Angola Opens International Tender for Namibe Corridor Management

The Government of Angola has initiated an international public tender for the management of the Namibe Corridor. Entities interested in operating and maintaining the corridor can submit proposals by May 4, 2026. The concession spans 30 years, with a potential extension to 50 years, and includes the Moçâmedes–Menongue Railway Line, related infrastructure, and the potential for expansion projects.

Jorge Bengue, Secretary of State for Land Transport, highlighted the strategic opportunity this tender presents for global railway operators. Bengue emphasized the corridor's potential to enhance Angola's logistics platform and improve export competitiveness. Recent structural reforms have improved Angola's business environment, as showcased by the successful Lobito Corridor concession.

The Namibe Corridor, comprising an 855 km railway and the Port of Namibe, is vital for exporting minerals and other goods. The project supports regional integration and strengthens Angola's position in Atlantic-Indian trade routes.
