Mutares to Acquire Wärtsilä's Gas Solutions Business

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has entered into an agreement to acquire the Gas Solutions business from Wärtsilä, a leader in engineering solutions for marine and energy markets. The deal, set to close in the first half of 2026, marks a strategic carve-out for Wärtsilä and enhances Mutares’ portfolio in energy transition and marine technology sectors. Gas Solutions, known for its critical equipment and process solutions, generated revenues of EUR 300 million in 2024 and operates globally, serving European and Asian markets.

Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, highlighted the acquisition's potential to expand their presence in the energy and marine sectors. He emphasized the company’s strong market position and skilled team as key advantages. Mutares views this acquisition as a step towards becoming a trusted carve-out partner in complex transactions within the Nordics.
