EIB finances Nexans to strengthen its R&D with 250 million euros
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted a €250 million loan to Nexans to support its research and development projects and industrial investments. This financing runs from 2024 to 2029 and includes the creation of a plant in Lens to increase copper production and recycling, thereby promoting the circular economy. It also includes the development of the Charleroi, Erembodegem, and Calais sites, and the expansion of capacity in Bourg-en-Bresse. Part of the loan benefits from a guarantee from the European InvestEU program, which underlines Nexans' approach to energy transition and industrial sovereignty.
