Baoting Launches China-EU Zero-Carbon Initiative

On October 21, 2025, Baoting, located in Hainan, China, announced the "China-EU Zero-Carbon County Cooperation Initiative" to mark the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement. Core practices in the zero-carbon transition include promoting energy efficiency, enhancing carbon sinks, and building platforms aligned with global standards.

The initiative was praised by global climate leaders, with China's Special Envoy for Climate Change and the CEO of the European Climate Foundation commending Baoting as a model of local action facilitating international collaboration. Expert insights and flagship projects were shared, demonstrating Baoting's role in advancing the zero-carbon agenda.
