Smith praised former President Trump's policies on critical minerals, emphasizing support through price floor guarantees. He argued this approach could protect emerging markets from price manipulation often employed by Chinese competitors. This was echoed by the Department of Defense's recent $10 million agreement with Elk Creek Resources Corp. The partnership aims to establish a comprehensive scandium supply chain domestically.
