Nordex Group Secures Major Wind Project in Latvia

The Nordex Group has announced it will supply and install 21 N163/6.X turbines for the Pienava wind farm in Latvia. This project, totaling 147 MW, marks the largest wind project in the country to date. Developed by Eolus, the project has been acquired by Latvenergo, Latvia's state-owned energy company.

Scheduled for commissioning in March 2027, Nordex will handle maintenance under a 15-year contract. Located in Tukums, southwest of Riga, the 169-meter Delta4000 series turbines will be installed starting summer 2026, featuring a cold climate version.

Nordex entered the Latvian market in 2024 and currently has 300 MW under construction. The Group continues to expand its footprint with approximately 57 GW of installed capacity globally, and a strong focus on onshore wind turbines.
